Greenlaw Town Hall's Present

Background to the campaign to restore the Town Hall

Local campaigners have been trying to reverse Greenlaw Town Hall’s decline for over 30 years. In the late 1960’s attempts were made to destroy the hall to and replace it with a car park. However, local campaigners prevented this, and the Hall was put into the care of trustees. In the 1990’s the Grade A-listed Greek revival building was put on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland, and is now categorised as in ‘poor condition’, and at ‘high risk’.
