Funding Boost for Greenlaw Town Hall

Berwickshire News Article of 10 December 2008 confirms that Greenlaw Town Hall received a £250,000 boost after Scottish Borders Council agreed to allow land near the village to be developed for affordable housing. The site near Edinburgh Road has been bought by Berwickshire Housing Association (BHA) from the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) who are trying to save this "A" Listed Town Hall Building.

The application was supported by the SBC's Planning and Building Standards Committee.

A concert was held in November 2008 in Greenlaw Church in support of the project - featuring a choral and instrumental concert by St Mary's Music School in order to raise further funds for the project. There remains a £500,000 shortfall on the project which has a target of £2.1 million.
