Greenlaw Town Hall – an option for everyone.
After very lengthy discussions with a number of public bodies, the Greenlaw Town Hall Trustees have obtained sufficient funding for an “Options Appraisal” for Greenlaw Town Hall. This is the necessary step before funding bodies, predominantly Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund, will approve any finance for the repair and total refurbishment of this very important building. The Greenlaw Town Hall Project Committee, which includes both Trustees of the Town Hall and members of Friends of Greenlaw, has appointed Jura Consultants of Loanhead, Edinburgh, to carry out this Options Appraisal and all the households in and around Greenlaw have been provided with a questionnaire for completion and return to the consultants. The committee is indebted to Historic Scotland, the Architectural Heritage Fund, Scottish Borders Council and RIAS Community Projects Fund for the necessary financial support for this appraisal. The opportunity of completing this questionnaire was open to anyone who has any interest in the Town Hall, and was available to be downloaded from this website. The completed questionnaires had to be returned to Jura Consultants by February 28th, with a view to there being a public meeting in Greenlaw soon afterwards, once Jura Consultants have had the opportunity of analysing the results.
