Greenlaw Country Fayre - In Support of Greenlaw Town Hall’s ‘Restoration Village’ Bid

When: From 10:20am to midnight
The days events will include traditional stalls and crafts, raffle, Aberdeen Angus BBQ and catering, helium balloon competition, magic shows, dancing and traditional games, green woodworking demonstrations, the revival of an ancient pagan ritual ‘woven energy’, and a ‘best dressed’ competition. There will be a BBC ‘Restoration Village’ stall with books and t-shirts from the series for sale, and John Hamilton will represent the Scottish Storytelling Centre, in association with Historic Scotland. During the day there will be music from the Scottish Borders Community Brass Group, and a pipe band accompanying dancing displays. In the evening there will be a family ceilidh followed by dancing to music from Johnnie’s Dance Band.
The church and the New Palace Theatre will be serving teas and coffees and showing local artist Helen Johnson’s Video Nation footage of Greenlaw Town Hall’s ‘Restoration Village’ bid. All entries into cross Borders children’s competition to draw the Town Hall will be on display.
Raffle prizes kindly donated to the Fayre include, garden centre vouchers, throws and rugs, golfing accessories, sponsorship of an olive tree in Italy, and the top prize of £100.
